Beauty On A Budget – Art Reproductions

Too Early, James Tissot

Art reproductions are a great way to spruce up one’s home on a limited budget. These items can range from paintings in various media such as oil on canvas or watercolor on paper. Prints, drawings and posters are also even more affordable choices for artwork to bring life to a room. Of course, there are sculptural pieces that command more presence, and generate more attention and conversation. With the right guidance and knowledge, they are actually a very practical way of owning a piece of art without spending too much, or without tying up a very large amount of money in an investment. The most important factor is that the piece is a reflection of personal style and taste of the homeowner in order for the artwork to provide great and lasting value.

There are countless of art styles and subjects to choose from among art reproductions available in the market. For oil on canvas paintings, realistic depictions can show romantic scenery or landscaping, or scenery with people and animals. Impressionist-style paintings contain images with distinct brushstrokes that create a very ethereal feel. Abstract works are completely symbolic or conceptual, relying mainly on colors, shapes, and composition to communicate certain emotions or feelings. Drawings and illustrations from old books also make very good framed prints. Visual art can range in size from small, pocket-sized illustrations to artworks with life-size images enough to fill up an entire wall in a house.

For sculptures, there are countless choices of art replicas as well. In terms of medium or material used, there are marble, wood, metal, or even unusual materials such as plastic or found objects. Sizes range as well from small tabletop items, to medium-sized sculptures that would look great when placed in a drab corner or on a coffee table. There are huge sculptures too that can be placed ideally outdoors in a garden—figures of people or animals, or architectural pieces such as columns or fountains. These can also be considered works of art. Large sculptures can also be used indoors to solve large unused spaces or corners, or serve as functional pieces of furniture to hold plants, and similar other uses.

Art painting reproductions are copies of mostly popular and well-known artworks and sculptures. It would be nice to choose pieces that bring to mind favorite places visited during travels, or images that bring very personal memories or messages. A period piece can complete a themed room in the house. A romantic Victorian oil painting would go well with furniture from that period. A modernist room with clean lines and streamlined furniture would benefit from a cool abstract painting, or a large super-graphic print or photograph.

These are what make art pieces very precious and meaningful. More than physical or monetary value of art, it is significance to the owner that matters in making sure these works will endure the test of time. Art reproductions enable more and more individuals and families to achieve the dream look for their rooms or their entire house.
